David Glenn Cobb
The funeral for David Glenn Cobb, 53, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McConnell Funeral Home with Cecil Norman officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Cobb died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at his home.
He was born June 18, 1953, in Limestone County, to Hubert Walker Cobb Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Martin Cobb. He was an Army veteran, serving in the 1st Battalion 13th Infantry in Germany. He was a former employee of Athens Ready Mix and loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, William Edward Cobb, Steve Cobb and three sisters, Linda McElyea, Bobbie Flannagan and Lula Cobb.
He is survived by two daughters, Tracy Shedd of Elkmont and Kim Gatlin of Tanner; one son, Brad Cobb of Athens; his mother; three sisters, Martha Blankenship of Athens, Brenda Smith of Decatur and Betty Fuller of Phoenix, Az.; five brothers, Wayne Cobb of Port Richie, Fla., Jimmy Cobb of Calera, Okla., Hubert Cobb of Athens, Douglas Cobb of Decatur and Danny Cobb of Athens; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Gatlin, Danny Cobb Jr., Jason Cobb, Jerry Cobb, Kenny Cobb and James Blankenship.
David G. Eddy
David G. Eddy, 62, of Elkmont, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at home. Spry Funeral Home will announce arrangements later.
Dicie J. Holland
Dicie J. Holland, 93, formerly of Athens, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, in California. Arrangements will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.
Maxine Morrow
Maxine Morrow, 89, formerly of Athens, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Baptist Princeton Hospital in Birmingham. Arrangements will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.
