ARDMORE — The North Jackson Chiefs came into Ardmore Friday night and manhandled the unbeaten Tigers 51-7.
The only bright spot or the night for the Tigers came early in the first quarter after North Jackson the game’s first touchdown and led 7-0.
On the kickoff, Duron Robinson raced 84 yards for a touchdown to tie it up.
But that was as closed as the Tigers would get.
North Jackson led 10-7 after the first quarter, 24-7 at the half and 38-7 after three quarters.
“They didn’t give up. It was a good measuring stick for our team,” said Ardmore coach Tracy Malone. “I think we still can meet our goals and make the playoffs.”
Ardmore will take on Columbia next Saturday night at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville.
Columbia is a new Class 4Aa school in Huntsville.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 2-1 and 1-1 in Class 4A, Region 7.
North Jackson moves to 2-1 and 2-0 in the region. The chiefs lost their opener to Buckhorn.
