Vickie Crawford
The funeral for Vickie Crawford, 55, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today at Chaneys Chapel Cemetery. The Reverend Jimmy Bassham, Dr. Curtis Coleman, Dr. Terry Greer and Ron Oakley will be officiating and McConnell Funeral Home will direct.
Ms. Crawford died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at her home.
She was born Dec. 30, 1950, in Jacksonville and grew up in Jackson County. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a master’s degree in physical education, taught school at Elkmont and then served as librarian for Athens Middle School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved teaching children, gardening and people.
She is survived by her husband, Gary D. Crawford of Elkmont; two sons, Aaron Crawford and wife Kelly of Ashville, Tyler Crawford of Athens; one stepson, Michael Sean Crawford of San Bernardino, Calif.; father, Charles Griffin of Dutton; mother, Irene Griffin of Dutton; mother-in-law, Eunice “Sis” Crawford of Scottsboro; seven grandchildren, Bria Crawford, Ashton Crawford, Alexa Crawford, Avalee Crawford, Brooks Crawford, Mallie Crawford, Nicholas Crawford; two sisters, Glenda Collier of Pell City, Charlene McClendon of Athens; two brothers, Derald Griffin of Scottsboro, Harrison Griffin of Dutton, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, P.O. Box 626, Athens, Ala. 35612 or to your favorite church or school.
Sarah W. Cribbs
The funeral for Sarah W. Cribbs, 63, of Harvest, will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fawlkes Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Ms. Cribbs died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Terry Lynn Disney
The funeral for Terry Lynn Disney, 57, of Elkmont, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home with John Nunley officiating. Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Disney died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
He was born Feb. 23, 1949, in Harlan, Ky. He attended the Baptist church and was a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Disney of Elkmont; three brothers, Brian Disney of Lexington, Ky., Phillip Disney of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tim Disney of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Brenda Nunley of Glassco, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be A.D. Lewter, Larry Bevil, Kevin Bevil, Charles Bevil, John Bevil and Dale Gilliam.
Donna Denise Justice
The funeral for Donna Denise Justice, 45, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. today at Anniston Memorial Chapel with Spry Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Justice died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at her home.
