Limestone County authorities were searching for a man Monday who robbed a 65-year-old county resident at gunpoint Sunday and then threatened to kill him if he notified police.

Limestone County Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt said the victim told authorities that he had been to the store early Sunday and was headed south on County Line Road in southeast Limestone County when he noticed a vehicle come up behind him at a high rate of speed.

“He drove to his home on the 29000 block of Hardiman Road and he got out of his car and was exiting out his garage when he noticed this white vehicle sitting in his driveway,” McNatt said.

“He said a black male was in the vehicle and the man asked him for directions to Limestone Correctional Facilty. The man then pointed a gun at him and told him to give his billfold. He told him not to call police because if he did he would come back and kill him.”

McNatt said the victim told investigators the man took all his money from his billfold which was approximately $25. The man then left.

The robber was described as being in his 20’s, about 5-10, weighing approximately 165 pounds.

He left driving a white SUV type vehicle which was described as an early 90’s model box-style vehicle.

“He left driving on Hardiman Road,” McNatt said.

McNatt said investigators did not have a suspect Monday, but were continuing to investigate.
