A two-vehicle collision Tuesday on Alabama 99 in western Limestone County left one West Limestone High School senior in critical condition and two other people injured.
The wreck occurred at about 7:48 a.m.
David Robison, 18, and Michael Robison, 15, both of Athens, were traveling on Alabama 99, about 10 miles north of Athens, when David lost control of his 1997 Saturn in Marbut’s Curve at Patterson Hill Road.
“They were on their way to school,” said Florence Robison, mother of the brothers.
The car sideswiped James Stanford Jr.’s 2002 Chevrolet pickup as he was headed into town.
“It was side to side, ” said Stanford, 25 of Lester. “He lost it and slid right into me.” Medflight flew David Robison to Huntsville Hospital. He was still in surgery at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
“They are listing him in critical condition right now,” his mother said.
Michael Robison and Stanford suffered minor injuries, but were not hospitalized.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
