East gets win at Priceville

PRICEVILLE – When East Limestone got in a jam at Priceville, the Indians turned to their big playmakers.
Johnathan Pinque and Chad Dewitt each scored fourth quarter touchdowns to help East Limestone escape with a 35-21 win over Class 4A, Region 7 newcomer Priceville.
With the game tied at 14 at halftime, Pinque opened the second half with a 77-yard touchdown run. Gill Johnson’s extra point attempt was good.
Priceville struck back late in the third quarter when Will Stevens scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs PAT was good.
With 8:51 left in the game, Dewitt reached the end zone for a 8-yard touchdown run. Johnson made the extra point to give the Indians a 28-21 lead.
Pinque scored again on a 3-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. Johnson made the extra point.
Pinque led East Limestone offensively with 157 yards rushing on 10 carries. He scored two touchdowns.
Chad Dewitt added 128 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns.
Lagarius Mayberry had three receptions and a touchdown in the win.
The win gives East Limestone (1-1, 1-0) a good start in Class 4A Region 7 play. The Indians finished as region runner-up last year.
