Man says he was held captive

An Athens woman and two of her friends were arrested Thursday and accused of holding the woman’s brother at gunpoint inside their home Monday night and early Tuesday.
“She claims the brother wronged her years ago when they were kids and she just got the truth out of him and apparently wanted revenge,” said Detective-Sgt. Trevor Harris. “He says they would not let him go. The sister says she was just trying to scare her brother.”
Tammie Lee Doss, 43, Donna Leigh Bianca, 37, and Ronald David Richie, 45, all of 419 Hargrove St., Athens, were arrested. Doss, the victim’s sister, and Bianca, are each charged with unlawful imprisonment and menacing. Richie is charged with unlawful imprisonment, all Class A misdemeanors.
Bianca, Doss and Richie denied they held Doss against his will.
“The door was never locked and he could have walked out that door any time he wanted to,” the victim’s sister said. “We never held him against his will.”
Capt. Marty Bruce said the incident occurred inside the Hargrove Street home. He said Tammie Doss and Richie live with Bianca.
The victim, Randy Doss, 46, of Elkton Street, Athens, told police he was held hostage inside the home several hours Monday night until he escaped by the front door early Tuesday morning. Doss told investigators that at one point, a shot was fired next to his ear. Harris said a bullet hole was later found in the ceiling.
Bianca admitted firing a shot in the ceiling of her home, but said she did it to show Doss it was loaded, not to harm him.
The victim’s sister said her brother grabbed her by the arms and bruised her. Bianca said the victim exposed himself to her while he was in the house.
“The women said Randy Doss came to their home at about 8 p.m. Monday and that they were praying for him for some of the things he has done in the past,” Harris said the women told him. “But they got upset at him when he didn’t take them seriously because he thought they were just joking around with him.”
Harris said Richie apparently became involved when he blocked the door and refused to let Randy Doss get out of the house. Bianca, Doss and Richie all denied that Thursday.
“The door was open any time he wanted to walk out it,” Bianca said. “He was in my home causing trouble.”
“Both women had handguns and Doss said Bianca fired one shot near his right ear, which Doss claims was still ringing the following day. Doss says he was held there against his will from two to four hours.
Doss said he escaped out the front door at about 1 a.m. when he found his captors not looking. Police said he went home, but did not call to report the crime until lunch time Tuesday.
“We don’t know if they were just playing games, but it is ridiculous for men and women in their 40s to be playing games like this,” Harris said.
Police said the two handguns used in the incident were later recovered in a plastic bag at another home. Harris said the hole in the ceiling was plugged with caulking when investigators searched the home for evidence.
The victim had a wound to the back of his head, but Harris said Doss is not sure where that happened.
There were no other injuries reported as the result of the incident.
