Douglas Wayne Greene

The funeral for Douglas Wayne Greene, 66, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church with the Reverend Jeremy Lucas officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Greene died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born Nov. 15, 1939, to Elmer Green and Rosa Lee Evans Green in Limestone County. He was a Sr. Data Analyst for the United Space Alliance in Huntsville. He served in the United States Army and National Guard. He was a tireless member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, where he had served on the Vestry, as Jr. Warden and was a leader of the men’s group. He was also a member of the Class of 1957 at East Limestone High School where he excelled in basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Green.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Greene of Athens; two sons, Erin Eppling and wife Marcie of Madison, Evan Eppling and wife Kimberly of Madison; two daughters, Cheryl Green of Texas and Melissa Green of Athens; three grandchildren, Alyssa Eppling, Kyle Eppling, Joshua Diaddario, all of Athens; extended family, Dave and Kirsten Diaddario of Athens; and one sister, Annette Barnard of Athens.

Memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.

Santos Pablo Lares, 26, of Athens, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006. Arrangements will be announced later by Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
