Due to the large attendance expected for Saturday night’s football game between Athens and East Limestone, the Athens High School Booster Club has made changes for parking on the Athens High campus.
All early arrivals must use the north entrance to the stadium off Alabama 251. Parking for the handicapped will be in front of the stadium and drivers must use the Alabama 251 entrance by the Athens Recreation Center. Other gates will not be opened until 5:30 p.m.
Reserved “gold seat” parking will be in the usual location and will open at 5:30 p.m.
All vehicles parking on campus must use one of the four entrances. No vehicles will be allowed to park along the side of either U.S 31 or Alabama 251. Parking costs $3 per vehicle.
At the end of the game, all cars exiting on to Alabama 251 must turn right and proceed north. All cars will exit from one of the four exits and no cars will be allowed to exit directly on to the streets from the grass areas.
School officials said if needed, overflow parking will be available at the Athens Sportsplex.
A new section of the walking track now connects with the Sportsplex to the campus.
