Mary Frances Edelbrock

Graveside service for Mary Frances Edelbrock, 82, of Henderson, Nev., will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Athens City Cemetery with Dr. Steve Williams officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Edelbrock died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at TLC Nursing Home in Henderson, Nev.

She was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Florence. She was a member of the Baptist church and a nurse.

She is survived by three sisters, Betty Burnett of Henderson, Nev., Judy Humphreys of Clinton, Ky., Nancy Mader of Foley; two brothers, Billy Cook and George Cook, both of Athens.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Cook, Earl Cook, Otis Cook and one sister, Margaret Williams.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Turner, Steve Williams, Bill Olson, Butch Cook, Scott Cook and Jim Cook.



Jeffrey Ray Shipman

Graveside service for Jeffrey Ray Shipman, 47, of Chattanooga, Tenn., will be at 10 a.m. today at Gatlin Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Brister officiating and Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Shipman died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at home.



Roy Herbert Stacey

Roy Herbert Stacey, 77, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2006. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Ga.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.  

Mr. Stacey was one of 12 children born to the late Ellis Marion Stacey and Annie Bates Stacey on April 3, 1929, in Rossville, Ga. He was a graduate of West Limestone High School. A veteran of the Army and Air Force, he served as a medic during the Korean conflict and earned the rank of staff sergeant. He worked for the Warner Robins Police Department, earning the rank of sergeant. Having worked for the Warner Robins branch of the United States Postal Service, he retired after 22 years of service as a postal clerk.

His passions in life were family, fishing, gardening and befriending wild animals. He truly enjoyed time spent with his family and created “Lake Sinclair Family Fishing Club.” He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Warner Robins.  

Survivors include his loving wife, Opal Heflin Stacey of Milledgeville, Ga.; children, Martin Stacey and wife Denise of Bonaire, Ga., Tony Stacey and wife Sharon of Kathleen, Ga.; grandchildren, Robin Stacey and Seth Stacey, both of Bonaire, Ga., Heather Stacey, Holly Stacey and Annie Stacey, all of Kathleen, Ga.; siblings, Dean Stewart of Athens, Doris Green of Elkmont, Lloyd Stacey of Madison, Cecil Stacey of Athens, Glyndell Stacey of Rockmart, Ga.; Leonard Stacey of Goodsprings, Tenn.; and June Bates of Town Creek.
