Frances Janell Barley

A graveside service for Frances Janell Barley, 67, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Athens City Cemetery with Mike Lovell officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Spry Funeral Home.

Ms. Barley died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born May 4, 1939, in Limestone County. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was employed by Westwood Manufacturing.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Nelson Barley of Athens, one sister, Evelyn Nye of Athens and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Stewart, Bob Kaiser, Jimmy Nye, Christopher Nye, Lawrence Nye and Paul Nye.



Ruby Nicholson Clinard

The funeral for Ruby Nicholson Clinard, 78, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. today at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Juaken Dumas, Randy Johnson and Doug McCurry officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service today.

Ms. Clinard died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Limestone Lodge.

She was born June 6, 1928, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean Saylors of Elkmont; one son, Phil Clinard of Athens; five grandchildren, Angie Stephenson of Crossville, Tenn., Adam Clinard of Athens, Chris Saylors of Eva, Toby Clinard of Athens, Phillip Clinard Jr. of Athens; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clinard, one son, Lavon Clinard and one grandson Eric Saylors.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.



Ruby Inez Geddings

The funeral for Ruby Inez Geddings, 86, of Elkmont, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Ed Edger officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Ms. Geddings died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at her home.



Regina B. Morris

A graveside service for Regina B. Morris, 76, of Athens, was at 11 a.m. Monday at Roselawn Cemetery with Eric Pugh officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Morris died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at her home.

She was a member of Friendship Methodist Church, a retired librarian and a member of the National Association Retired Federal Employees.

She was preceded in death by her husband William P. Morris.

She is survived by one brother, Walter Byington of Lexington, Ky., two nieces and two nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.



Edwin R. Perry

The funeral for Edwin R. Perry, 82, of Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Stonecypher, the Reverend Lynn Marshall, Harold Whitt and the Reverend Joel McGraw officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Perry died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Valley View Nursing Home in Madison.



David Eugene Rood

The funeral for David Eugene Rood, 67, of Athens, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, Miss., with the Reverend Rodney Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Cronier Cemetery in Moss Point, Miss.

Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

A memorial service was held at McConnell Funeral Home Monday night.

Mr. Rood died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at his home.

He was born Dec. 21, 1938 in Foley to Raymond J. Rood and Irma Yunker Rood. He earned his electrical engineer degree from Auburn University. He retired from the Corp. of Engineers after 37 years of service. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Cronier Rood of Athens; three sons, Greg Rood and wife Sherry of Florence, Miss., Ray Rood and wife Pam of Ocala, Fla., Chris Rood of Toney; one sister, Jane Lane of Foley; five grandchildren, Samantha Burkhalter and husband Eric, Cody Rood of Florence, Miss., Ryan Rood of Athens, David Rood of Ocala, Fla., Emily Rood of Ocala, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Zack Burkhalter.



Ivins Philmore Voorhees Sr.

The funeral for Ivins Philmore Voorhees Sr., 84, of Athens, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Joel Teal officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Voorhees died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at his home.

He was a native of Highlands, N.J. He was preceded in death by his parents Ivins O. and Levinia Bogue Voorhees; wife, Millicent Voorhees; and two daughters, Jean Reich and Peggy Richards. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, former fire chief of Ocean Port Fire Department, member of the Washington, N.J., Masonic Lodge and was a retired supervisor for Bell Telephone Company.

He is survived by one son, Ivins P. Voorhees Jr. and wife Edith of Athens; one daughter, Doris Lestella and husband Frank of Eaton Town, N.J., 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
