UAH hosts Fox 54’s Alabama auditions for ‘American Idol’

HUNTSVILLE — The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will host the Fox 54’s Alabama Idol auditions for 2006 next Saturday.
Auditions will begin promptly at 8 a.m., in the Pei-Ling Chan Auditorium of the Administrative Science Building. Contestant pre-registration and line assembly begins at 7 a.m.
The winner of Alabama Idol receives a guaranteed audition at the American Idol auditions in Memphis, Tenn., on Sunday, Sept. 3. The winner will audition before an American Idol producer. It is not guaranteed they will audition in front of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul or Randy Jackson for this event. Auditions will continue through 4 p.m., and shortly afterwards judges will begin the deliberation process, which lasts until 5 p.m. The winner will be announced at 6 p.m., and must be present to win.
At the time of the audition, contestants must bring identification, proof of citizenship, a signed release form and an adult for persons under 18.
