Raymond D. Anderson

Funeral services for Raymond D. Anderson, 83, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Reverend Randy Johnson, the Reverend Pat Lawrence and the Reverend Doug McCurry officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Anderson died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.



Arthur Joseph Bailey

The funeral for Arthur Joseph Bailey, 78, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Church of Christ in Woodland with Allen Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Woodland.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Bailey died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was a principal at Cragford Jr. High School and was a school administrator and coach in various schools. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ, retired Lt. Colonel of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.

He was born Aug. 3, 1928, to Arthur B. Bailey and Ida B. Kirby Bailey in Randolph County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Eulous Bailey, Carl Bailey and Ray V. Bailey; and one sister, Shirley Bailey.

He is survived by his wife Burma Bailey of Athens; three daughters, Sherry Honicker and husband Ed of Hampton Cove, Susan Bailey and Joan Berzett and husband Butch of Athens; seven grandchildren, Katie Sharp of Huntsville, Eric Higginbotham of Athens, Cole Berzett of Athens, Ryan Berzett of Athens, Rachel Lewis of Athens, Edward Honicker of Hampton Cove and Alex Honicker of Hampton Cove; one sister, Mary Strain of Woodland and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ed Honicker, Eric Higginbotham, Edward Honicker, Butch Berzett, Ryan Berzett and Cole Berzett.

Family requests no flowers. Please make memorials to your favorite charity.



William Ellis Evans

The funeral for William Ellis Evans, 68, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home with Joey Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Evans died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at his home.

He was born May 5, 1938, in Limestone County. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Alabama National Guard and CEO of Premier Structures of Athens. He was also a member of the Canebrake Golf Club, the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Valley Rehabilitation Center.

He is survived by his wife Helen Evens of Athens; one daughter Cynthia Evans McKee and husband Butch of Athens; two sisters, Mable Birchfield of Athens and Eleanor Bullington of Athens; one brother, Paul B. Evans Sr. and wife Linda of Goodsprings and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Norman Hamm, Tom McLemore, Jerry Partridge, Mike Nash, Dough Griffin and Wendell Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Premier Structures.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Southside Baptist Church or Hospice of Limestone County.



Dorothy Jean Ruffin

The funeral for Dorothy Jean Ruffin, 71, of Athens, will be at noon Tuesday at Peoples Funeral Home with Larry R. Lockett officiating. Burial will be in Thatch-Mann Cemetery.

Mrs. Ruffin died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
