Limestone County authorities arrested a 29-year-old Decatur man Sunday on drug charges.

Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said Terrel Deshawn Garth, 29, of 313 Brenda St., Decatur, was jailed on charges of trafficking in cocaine and resisting arrest.

Blakely said officers stopped a man in front of Calhoun Community College and that the suspect grabbed something and took off running to the Calhoun campus. Deputy Josh McGlcoklin gave chase and apprehended the suspect after seeing him throw something into some shrubs.

Blakely said officers found approximately 9 ounces of cocaine in the shrubbery.
