Wanda Faye Armstrong

Funeral for Wanda Faye Armstrong, 46, of Athens, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bobby Lynn officiating. Interment will be at Ford’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Armstrong died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at home.

She is survived by her husband Jackie Armstrong; one son, Jeremy Earl Flynn of Elkmont; one daughter, Amanda Faye Bunch of Arab; her mother, Helen Jane Smallwood of Athens; three brothers, Pete Childers of Harvest and Bo Carlisle and Tony Carlisle, both of Athens; one sister, Mary Ann Carlisle of Athens; her maternal grandmother, Virginia Lipscomb of Harvest; and two grandchildren, Shelby and Gracie Bunch.



Paul Wayne Jones

Funeral for Paul Wayne “PW” Jones, 61, of Lacey’s Spring, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Robinson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Hatt Church of Christ Cemetery in Parrish.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006.

He was born Nov. 18, 1944, to Boyd and Clara B. Jones of Parrish. He was a retired communications worker for Avaya and was a Vietnam War veteran. He is survived by his wife, Reeta Jones; one son, Wayne Jones and his wife Becky and two sons, Shelby and Jaime, all of Lacey’s Spring; one daughter, Belinda Frost and husband George and three children, Kyle, Hanna and Josie, all of Eva; and one sister, Drucilla Jones of Jasper.

Martha Cary Landers

Funeral for Martha Cary Landers, 90, formerly of Athens, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Ms. Landers died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.



Dewey Bridges Massey

Graveside service for Dewey Bridges Massey, 83, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jaina Anderson officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Massey died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Tut Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville.

He was born in Limestone County July 27, 1923, to Ed Goliday Massey and Grace Kemp Massey and was a life-long resident of Limestone County. He was a retired businessman who owned and operated Massey’s Store at Jones’ Cross Roads and Massey Brothers Cars in Athens. He was a veteran of the United States Army and lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by one daughter, Mona Aycock and husband David of Athens; one daughter-in-law, Sharon G. Massey of Athens; five grandchildren, Jason Massey, Amanda Romine, Kathryn Massey, Will Aycock and Leigh Ann Aycock; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ed G. Massey II; his parents; his brother, Dwight Massey; and his sisters Mabel Kilpatrick and Blanche Miller.



Harold W. Murphy

Funeral for Harold W. Murphy, 81, of Madison, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Madison Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Murphy died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006.



Lena Cleo Smith

The funeral for Lena Cleo Smith, 86, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home with Wayne Bowden officiating. Burial will be in Tanner Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Ms. Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at home.
