Barry Wayne Clayton

The funeral for Barry Wayne Clayton, 38, of Hoover, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham with the Rev. Charles Click officiating. Burial will be in Pine Bluff Cemetery in Blount County.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Clayton died Friday, June 24, 2006, at home.

He was a mortgage broker and a member of Lindsey Lane Baptist Church of Athens.

He is survived by two sons, Cole Clayton and Drake Clayton, both of Athens; his parents, Mrs. Carolyn Adams of Hoover and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Clayton of Pelham; one sister, Mrs. Christy Scott of Birmingham; three brothers, Todd Clayton, Dugan Clayton and Clark Clayton, all of Birmingham; and his grandmother, Mrs. Bernice Huffstutter of Birmingham.



Bonnie L. Jean Craft

The funeral for Bonnie L. Jean Craft, 77, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of Athens with Larry Hill, Roger Lewis and Dewayne Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Craft died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

She was a member of First Church for 54 years and a long-time leader of the Ladies Auxiliary and First Church.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Brother Dewey Craft; one son, Dr. Rick Craft of Athens; two grandsons, Robin Craft of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Jonathan Craft of Athens; great-granddaughter, Elaina Mariah Craft of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; one brother, J.R. Jean of Hazel Green; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Church.



Helen McElyea

Funeral arrangements for Helen McElyea, 77, of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. McElyea died Friday, June 23, 2006, at home.



William Benton Pettus

The funeral for William Benton Pettus, 89, of Elkmont, will be at 2 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Ronnie Holt and Bob Ogles officiating. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery.

Mr. Pettus died June 21, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by one son, Ben Pettus, Elkmont; three granddaughters, Lacy Williams and husband Nick of Auburn, Leigh Pettus of Athens, and Ivy Stroud and husband Clay of Bluffton, S.C.; one daughter-in-law, Eva Pettus of Athens; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Pettus Stroud and Avery Nicole Williams.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Pettus and son Steve Pettus.
