Homebuilders set Parade of Homes next two weekends

Newcomers to Limestone County or long-time residents thinking of a new home will get two consecutive weekends to explore the American dream.
The annual Athens-Limestone Homebuilders Association Parade of Homes will be Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 18, and June 24 and 25. Saturday times are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday times are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This community has been the site of unprecedented growth of housing and services in recent years, outstripping nearby communities. The Chamber of Commerce and the Base Realignment and Closure Committee, who have been working to recruit new families to the city and county, say the community sells itself because of its “quality of life.”
Because of forward-thinking developers and builders we are poised to receive these new families into modern, spacious homes available to all income levels. Comprehensive building codes also ensure a quality structure.
Two of the homes featured in the Parade of Homes publication contained erroneous information. Parade Home No. 9 offered by Diversified Properties at 24565 Cypress Lane in Plantation East should have been listed at $200,000. Also, that home displayed a floor plan with a bonus room. Homebuilders Association spokesman Nick Hamlin said the home does not have a bonus room.
Also, Parade Home No. 13 by builder Terrell Carden on Tremont Drive is located in Tremont Subdivision—not Woodlands Subdivision.
A map in the midsection of the Parade of Homes publication will guide shoppers who are searching for their dream home.
