Frances L. Firestone

A memorial service for Francis L. Firestone, 85, of Athens, will be today at 1 p.m. at Athens Church of God with Terry Jackson officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Firestone died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Lanett, to Dexter and Eula Smith. She was a member of Athens Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Firestone; a son, Anthony D. Firestone, Sr.; and three brothers.

She is survived by one daughter, Deanna Cornett of Killen; one son, Thomas Firestone of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Merle Gilbert of Anderson, Ind.; one brother, James Smith of Phenix City; seven grandchildrenl and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Athens Church of God.





Florence Marie Haney

The funeral service for Florence Marie Haney, 73, of Attalla, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at McConnell Funeral Home with Tim Haney officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Haney died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at her home. She was born Sept. 17, 1932, in Michigan to Frank and Crescence Knowlton. She was preceded in death by her husband Merritt Haney, and one daughter, Yvonnie Haney.

She is survived by two sons; Ronald L. Haney and wife Cherrie, of Hanceville, and Henry Haney and wife Charity, of Attalla; two daughters; Carol Ditto and husband Larry, of Union Grove and Jennifer Campbell and husband Bob, of Geraldine; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scottie Ditto, Jason Ditto, Chris Haney, Nicholas Campbell, Greg Campbell and Colton Haney.



James Randy Sharp

A graveside service for James Randy Sharp, 51, of Hamilton, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roselawn Cemetery with Phil Daws officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Sharp died April 17, 2006, in Hamilton. He was born in Limestone County on Sept. 2, 1954, to Virgil James Sharp and Helen Ruth Baugher Sharp. He was a painter in the construction industry and was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by two brothers, Stanley Sharp and his wife Sheila, of Athens and Donny Sharp of Athens; two nephews, Dallas Sharp and Travis Sharp.



Marjorie Earle Leake Stevenson Johnson

The funeral for Marjorie Earle Leake Stevenson Johnson, 75, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Tim Keenum and David Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas W. Stevenso and a grandson, Jonathan Taylor.

She is survived by her husband Joe Johnson of Athens; two sons, Thomas M. Stevenson of Athens and Randy M. Stevenson of Camden, Ark.; two daughters, Beverly Montgomery of Elkmont and Connie Taylor of Athens; two step-sons, Stephen Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla., and William P. Johnson of Athens; one step-daughter, Michelle Davis of Cartersville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Neil Montgomery, Justin Taylor, Will Stevenson and Paul Pawlikowski; two great-grandchildren, Colin Montgomery and Courtney Montgomery; five step-grandchildren, Brittany Harpest, Katlin Heath, Amanda Davis, Justin Johnson and Haley Johnson; three sisters, Margaret Pressnell of Athens, Helen Berzett of Elkton, Tenn., and Carol Hampton of Athens.

Grandsons and great-grandson will be pallbearers.
