Lady Warhawks rally to win two

Calhoun Softball came from behind to sweep Snead State in a doubleheader to remain in a battle for first place in the ACCC Northern Division.
In Game 1, Calhoun trailed 1-0 going into the bottom of the 6th inning.
Laura Leigh Keenum led off with a hard hit single to the left side of the field. Kim Haney sacrificed her to second. Lacey Keenum’s single moved her to third. Kala Weatherly drove in both Keenums with her single up the middle.
In game two, the Lady Warhawks were down by two in the bottom of the 5th inning before rallying to tie the score. Breanna Lee led off the inning with a walk. Jennifer Brewer doubled down the left field line, before scoring on an overthrow at second base.
In the 6th, Kala Weatherly walked, bringing up pinch hitter, Megan Hensley, who singled. Jenea Stephenson returned to the lineup for Hensley and immediately stole second prior to the Lady Warhawks’ five-consecutive hits.
Rachael Carden doubled to score two runs, Breanna Lee and Laura Leigh Keenum single got another run. Kim Haney singled Lacey Keenum doubled for another run.
Carden and Lacey Keenum also had a single in earlier innings.
Breanna Lee did not give up any hits as she came in to pitch in the fifth to get the win.
Calhoun improved to 28-9 overall and 12-2 in conference.
