Two former Limestone County students remained in critical condition Friday following a two-vehicle wreck Thursday night in Limestone County.
Jeremiah McKinley, 18, of Ardmore, a 2005 graduate of Ardmore High School, was in critical condition in Huntsville Hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit Friday. He was the driver of a 1987 Lincoln involved in the accident.
His passenger, Marlena Fuqua, 16, of Toney, was also injured in the accident and was also in critical condition in Huntsville Hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit Friday.
East Limestone Principal Dennis Black said that Fuqua was a former student of East Limestone High School, but to his knowledge she was being home schooled.
Ardmore High School Principal Mike Owens said Fuqua had also attended Ardmore, but had transferred to East Limestone in 2002.
McKinley was wearing his seatbelt, Fuqua was not, said a state trooper dispatcher.
A third person involved in the accident, Marty Owens, 37, of Harvest, was not injured. He was the driver of a 2005 Toyota.
The wreck remained under investigation.
This wreck follows a Monday accident where an Ardmore High School student was killed in a one-vehicle wreck in Madison County. The funeral for Kriston Morrell, 14, was Thursday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home.
Brittany Hastings, 15, also of Ardmore, remained in Huntsville Hospital’s Neurological Intensive Care Unit Friday in critical condition.
