The Tanner Rattlers beat Athens Bible School 4-1 Friday, a day after the Rattlers were beaten 8-1 on the road at Ardmore.

Clay McMeans went the distance Friday at ABS, giving up two hits while striking out eight. Houghton took the loss for ABS.

Jarrod Harrison and Blake Montgomery led Tanner with two singles each. George Adams hit a double, Brandon Gist doubled and Cliff Bunch, ShaneDempsey and Elliott Malone each singled.

Tanner improves to 13-9 going into the Limestone County Baseball Tournament beginning today at Clements.



Ardmore 8, Tanner 3

Ardmore scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs Thursday to break open a close game with Tanner and went on to win 8-3.

In that big fifth inning, five Ardmore players got key hits including two doubles — one by C. Deff and the other by J. Marlow — to lead the way.

Adams and Gist led Tanner each going three-for-four at the plate. Montgomery hit a double and triple.

Ardmore got outstanding pitching from C. Taylor who got the win.
