The News Courier will publish, free of charge, death notices including the name, age and city of residence of the deceased, date and place of death, and time and place of funeral services and visitation.
Family members now may express themselves in a eulogy, list survivors and give detailed biographical information about the deceased in a paid obituary. The News Courier will accept these paid items from the family, funeral directors, or other individuals. Paid obituaries may include a photo at no extra charge.
If a published obituary contains an error, The News Courier will reprint a corrected obituary at no charge, provided the error was ours. The News Courier does not issue refunds on obituary announcements.

Grady Franklin Craig Sr.
The funeral for Grady Franklin Craig Sr., 84, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Harlon Hood officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Craig died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Athens Convalescent Center.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, North Border Masonic Lodge, and Salem Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel Shoemaker Craig; his parents, Franklin and Amanda Craig; one daughter, Brenda Wheatley; two brothers, Cleatus and Clarence Craig; and four sisters, Clella Mae Baker, Cora Jane Bradford, Esterlene Hargraves and Greta Kelley.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Craig; one son, Grady Franklin Craig Jr. and wife Carol of Shelbyville, Ky.; one daughter, Virginia Dale Adkins and husband Bob of Corbin, Ky.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Allen B. Craig of Athens; four sisters, Cassie Hargrave, Ila Craig and Moreta Johnson, all of Athens, and Adeline Aprill of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
