One plus 99 others can raise $1,000 for the American Cancer Society, that’s the idea behind the Crazy Math House open house to be held Sunday.

Jimmy Hill, of RE/MAX Madison, the PreFURRed Team with partner Rhonda Furr, said that if 100 people come to Sunday’s open house that means $1,000 would go to the American Cancer Society by way of Midway Baptist Church’s Relay for Life Team.

The cause touches a little closer to home for Hill whose wife Cindy is a cancer survivor as are others at Midway Baptist Church where the two attend.

“Our church is really supporting what we’re doing here too,” Hill said of the open house.

There will be three houses open for viewing Sunday, which are located in Blake Station in eastern Limestone County. Blake Station, when finished, will have 160 homes that will be constructed over the next three years. The brick homes, constructed by Red Rock Homes, are 2,000 plus square feet with three, four and five bedroom plans available.

Hill and his wife, who are Madison County residents, plan to participate in Limestone County’s Relay for Life coming in May. Hill serves as music director at Midway Baptist.

The open house will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. To get to Blake Station, take U.S. 72 east to Old Railroad Bed Road and take a left. Hill said there would be balloons that will help direct viewers where to go.

Refreshments will be available and door prizes will also be given away. There is no cost to attend the open house.

Relay for Life in Athens will May 5-6 from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. at the Athens Sportplex. Teams are currently being accepted.

The next team captain meeting will at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, at First Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Relay for Life is an overnight fund-raising effort for the American Cancer Society and is in its 12th year in Athens.

All funds raised at Relay For Life support American Cancer Society programs designed to reduce cancer incidence and mortality through research, education, advocacy and patient services, as stated in a press release regarding the event.
