Whitney Hawkins had three hits and pitched one two strong games by Athens High, Friday night, as the Lady Eagles went 3-0 in pool play at the Wallace State Softball Tournament in Cullman.

Hawkins tossed a two-hitter and struck out 14 in a 4-1 opening win over West Point. The senior also had a pair of singles, while Kristina Prater and Connie Swann added one single each.

Lacy Kerr then came back with a two-hitter and 12 strike outs in a 3-1 win over Arab. Courtney White had a triple, while Kerr and Swann each collected doubles in the win.

In their final game, the Lady Eagles tot two singles form prater in a seven-hit attack and beat Lincoln County, Tenn. 4-3.

Athens jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first two innings.

Swann, Amanda Rogers, Hawkins, Kerr and White each added singles.
