Calhoun runs streak to 10

The Calhoun Community College baseball team ran its winning streak to 10 games, Friday, by sweeping a doubleheader from Northeast Mississippi Community College, 4-3 and 11-3.

The Warhawks got a pair of singles from Matt Montgomery in support of Nick Porter in the opener. Porter struck out five over five innings.

In the nightcap, Blake Forsyth had three hits to lead the Warhawks. Bradley Ray and former West Limestone High School standout Cole Mitchell added two hits each.

Mitchell drove in two runs, while Ray had a double. Kevin Weidenbacher had a triple and three RBIs for Calhoun.

The Warhawks next game is Tuesday at home against Cumberland College. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at noon.
