Warhawks split with Columbia

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Bradley Ray, Chris Law and R.J. Thompson had three hits each, Saturday, to lead Calhoun to an 8-3 opening-game win in the first game of a doubleheader at Columbia State.
The Warhawks (9-3) dropped the second game 5-4.
Martin Warren added two hits for the Warhawks in the opening win. Jay Sivley got the victory with a complete-game, seven inning performance. Sivley struck out three.
In the nightcap, Thompson had two hits, and Corey Looney collected one. Chris Law drove in a pair of runs. The game ended with the tying run on third base for Calhoun.
Nick Porter allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss.
Calhoun plays a single game at Lawson State today.
