Calhoun sweeps Shelton

Laura Leigh Keenum had a single and triple in the opener, and sister Lacey did one base better in the nighcap Saturday as Calhoun swept a junior college softball doubleheader from Shelton State at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur.
The Lady Warhawks (3-1) beat the Lady Bucs 5-4 in the opener and 11-8 in the second game.
Brittany Norton added two hits to the attack in the first game.
That came in support of Alicia Hall, who allowed seven hits and one walk, while striking out six in seven innings.
In the nightcap, Lacey Keenum’s double and triple came in support of Brianna Lee.
The Decatur native gave up 11 hits and two walks, while striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings.
Jessi Nelson added two singles in the nightcap.
Kala Weatherly had one hit.
The Lady Warhawks are in Booneville, Miss. today to meet Northeast Mississippi Community College.
