The News-Courier will publish, free of charge, death notices including the name, age and city of residence of the deceased, date and place of death, and time and place of funeral services and visitation.
Family members now may express themselves in a eulogy, list survivors and give detailed biographical information about the deceased in a paid obituary. The News-Courier will accept these paid items from the family, funeral directors, or other individuals. Paid obituaries may include a photo at no extra charge.
If a published obituary contains an error, The News-Courier will reprint a corrected obituary at no charge, provided the error was ours. The News-Courier does not issue refunds on obituary announcements.

Howard LaDon Parsons
The funeral for Howard LaDon Parsons, 50, of Athens will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Phillip Presley and Robert Norman officiating. Burial will be in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, Tenn. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Monday.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Parsons died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1956, to Howard S. Parsons and Clara Louise Petty Parsons. He was the owner of Trees for Free and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by three sons, Matthew, Joshua, and Caleb Parsons, all of Athens; their mother, Donna Cates Parsons of Athens; his mother, Louise Parsons, of Shelbyville, Tenn.; two sisters, Faye Hane of Sunnyville, Ca., and Gayle Wasson and her husband Andy, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and one brother, Doyle Parsons and his wife Cheryl, of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Parsons, Morgan Parsons, Clive Wasson, Tim Demonbreum, Joshua Parsons, Steve Hardison, Doyle Parsons, and Caleb Parsons. Honorary pallbearer will be Patrick Hane.
Memorial may be made to favorite charities.
