Lady Trojans bow out in 1A, Area 15

TOWN CREEK – Kirsten McClure had 11 points, but was the only player in double figures for Athens Bible School Monday night in a 62-36 loss to R.A. Hubbard in the opening round of the Class 1A, Area 15 Tournament at Hazelwood High School.

Tameshia Parham and Monique Hampton led Hubbard with 16 points.

McClure had six rebounds and four steals for ABS (7-21). Becca Adams had five points, six rebounds and four assists; Katie Eubanks had four steals and four assists; Athena Hinkle had eight rebounds, and Jennifer Underwood scored seven points.

The Lady Indians jumped on Holy Family 13-0 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Ebony McCrary had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lady Indians. Danielle Jefferson had 10 points and seven rebounds. Brittany Moore scored eight points. Shanika Harris scored seven points, while Jackie Tubb had six points and nine rebounds.



Boys Game

Tanner 82, Calera 60

Rod Byrd, Tavoris Gray and Demarcus King each had 15 points to lead the Rattlers to their 26th win over the second.

The Rattlers made 51 percent of their shots, while holding Calera to 34 percent. Tanner also out-rebounded Calera 42-26.

Michael Faulk added 13 points, and Latraius Mosley added 12 points for the Rattlers (26-2).
