U.G. White General Mercantile have been “Keeping it real … since 1917.”
The store held its Ully Festival over the weekend, which included the Red Ryder BB Gun Challenge, soap making demonstration, beekeeping demo, dog wash, live music, blacksmithing, campsite setup, pottery wheel demo, vintage vehicles, letterpress demonstration, tractor and trailer hayride, grilled sausages and more, in downtown Athens.
On Saturday, Rep. Dan Williams, R-Athens, and Sen. Bill Holtzclaw, R-Madison, presented Derrick White of U.G. White General Mercantile with a proclamation celebrating the 95 years U.G. White has made Athens home, and an Alabama flag flown this week over the state Capitol.
