There is almost nothing better than hugging Clifford the Big Red Dog or any of you favorite storybook characters.
On March 2, children can meet some of their favorite storybook characters or dress like them while also helping raise money for the Athens-Limestone County Library Foundation.
The second-annual Storybook Ball will be held fro m 5 to 7 p.m. at the Limestone County Event Center on Pryor Street in Athens. Proceeds will be used for the library’s operational costs.

Storms down trees, power lines; more possible today
Elizabeth Gray’s car sits undamaged in her driveway Monday afternoon after a powerful line of storms knocked down a tree on her property at the corner of Beaty and Pryor streets in Athens. More than 1,200 customers were without power after the weather moved through.
