The small-engine shop at the Limestone County Career Technical Center has a smattering of work tables, trash bins and tool chests mixed in with chain saws, mowers and weed trimmers in various states of repair.
Standing out among the dust, oil and scrap metal is a shiny riding lawn mower with a gleaming black steering wheel, a gray cushioned seat and a navy blue-and-orange paint scheme with Auburn accents.
The mower appears brand-new but actually was a product of an extreme makeover by three power technology students at the Limestone County Career Technical Center.
West Limestone 11th-grader Matthew Tucker, 17, Elkmont 10th-grader Dylan Parker, 16, and West Limestone 10th-grader Dylan McCluskey, 15, were able to salvage a dilapidated riding lawn mower brought in by first-year power technology instructor Andrea Berry.
