As Kaye McFarland stepped forward Monday to read one of several lists of names, she couldn’t express her appreciation enough.
“You’re part of a larger team… that we cherish each day,” she said. “These folks are making the difference.”
McFarland, the executive director of the Athens-Limestone County United Way, lead the program for the organization’s year-in-review luncheon Monday, held at the Rogers Center at First Presbyterian Church in Athens.
Collaborating financial support and volunteer time from community leaders and business professionals helps the United Way expand its outreach within the community, McFarland said.
“That makes a world of difference,” she said.
