A black Ford Mustang driven by Betty P. White crossed the center line and collided with a black Dodge sedan driven by Reynold Porterfield on Forrest Street near Chandler Street in Athens Wednesday afternoon.
Athens Police said White was on her phone and over-corrected when she realized she was heading off the pavement.
No one was injured, but the front ends of both vehicles were damaged.

UPDATE: Fiery car wreck kills 2 in Limestone
A one-vehicle crash in western Limestone County killed two people. Their pickup truck had an out-of-state iicense plate, according to Limestone Coroner Mike West, who declared both occupants dead at the scene. He referred to both as "subjects" instead of male or female victims because both bodies were burned in the crash.

Smith signs with NW Florida
Athens senior Alliyah Smith signed a basketball scholarship with Northwest Florida College at a ceremony Tuesday morning at Athens High School. Smith, a six-foot, two-inch center, played in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game along with the AHSAA North-South All-Star game.
