Candidates on the ballot for the Aug. 28 municipal elections took part Tuesday evening in a forum held in the Sandridge Student Center at Athens State University.
The event, sponsored by The News Courier, Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, Athens State University and the Alabama Veterans Museum, was attended by an estimated 125 people.
Candidates running for City Council and mayor were asked questions related to city matters. Jerry Barksdale, a local author and historian, served as moderator.
Because of early deadlines, a story about the forum will appear in Thursday’s edition of The News Courier.
