$5K reward offered for capture of prison escapees; inmates helped by two women, officials said

Richard Harbison, executive vice president of the Perry County Corrections Center, Thursday announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the recapture of escaped fugitives Ashton Mink, 22, and Joshua Loyd Southwick, 26.

Southwick, a Michigan native, pleaded guilty in February 2007 to a murder-for-hire in which an Elkmont man was killed in 2003. Southwick received a life sentence for murder and 20 years for burglary in Limestone County Circuit Court in connection with the death of Michael Bryant, 21.

Southwick was one of three men accused in the plot to kill Bryant, but Ardmore resident Mark Anthony Angus was acquitted. The third man, James Mason Duncan of Arkansas, pleaded guilty to murder in Limestone County Circuit Court in April 2007 and was sentenced to life in prison. Bryant was shot execution style in a mobile home. Bryant’s teen girlfriend and members of her family were inside at the time.

Mink was serving a 20-year sentence for assault out of Madison County. The two escaped from the Perry County facility on May 25, allegedly with assistance from Angela Diana Mink, 25, Mink’s sister, and Jacquelin Rae Kennamer Mink, 25, his wife, who are believed to have cut holes in the perimeter fence.

Angela Mink, from Huntsville, is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 105 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She has multiple visible tattoos on both arms, upper and lower, both wrists, and at the base of her neck.

Jacquelin Mink, also from Huntsville, is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 130 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

ADOC has obtained arrest warrants on Angela Mink and Jacquelin Mink charging them with aiding the escape of state prisoners. The US Marshals Service has obtained federal arrest warrants charging all four with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Ashton Mink is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 130 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. Southwick is 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes. He has numerous tattoos on his arms, his back and neck.

The US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force believes the four fled in pewter 2000 GMC Jimmy SUV with license tag number 47A21F2. Authorities consider the four armed and extremely dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these fugitives should contact the US Marshals Service at 1-800-336-0102.

This is a nationwide manhunt, with ongoing investigations in at least seven states.
