Wedding: Slaten-Smith

— Whitney Elizabeth Slaten and Nathan Keith Smith, both of Athens, were married in a 4 p.m. ceremony July 2 at Seven Mile Post Road Church of Christ in Athens with Joe Curtis officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Tammy Slaten of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Wyatt and Judy Griffin and Raymond and Mildred Slaten.

The groom is the son of Cindy Smith Hardy of Michigan and the late Larry Keith Smith. He is the grandson of Doyle and Dorothy Smith of Danville and JoAnn Bates of Cullman and the late Rachel Smith and T.E. Phillips.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Matron of Honor was Katie Slaten Toone, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were LilliAnna Kervin, Tiffany Colwell, Daly Dunavant, Stacie Engle and Shana Potts.

The flower girls were Maggie Kervin and Mylee Kervin.

David Evans, uncle of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were T.J. Frink, Jeremy McConnell, Justin Norton, Joey Miller, Jacob Chandler, Lance Wales and Brandon Simmons.

The ringbearers were Wyatt Kervin and Aaden Colwell.

A reception folowed the ceremony at The Grand Salon at the Four Points Sheraton in Huntsville.

After a wedding trip to Nashville and Gatlingburg, Tenn., the couple returned home to Athens.
