Approximately $530 million in federal funds has been approved to help survivors, businesses, communities and the state of Alabama rebuild safer and stronger following the historic outbreak of storms and tornadoes in the spring. The following is a statewide breakdown, by the numbers:

$175 million

Total federal disaster assistance provided to Alabamians in the form of disaster grants and low-interest loans.

More than $102.8 million

The amount of SBA disaster loan approvals for uninsured losses sustained by homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes.

$72.8 million

Grants provided to help survivors find temporary housing, make basic repairs and replace essential personal property including more than $53.2 million provided for housing assistance and nearly $19.6 million distributed for other serious disaster-related needs.

More than $102 million

Local, state and federal funds necessary to complete more than 1,500 recovery projects and repair infrastructure through FEMA's cost-share Public Assistance program, including nearly $64.8 million for debris removal and emergency protective measures and nearly $38 million to repair or replace public roads, bridges, buildings, utilities and other facilities.

Nearly 88,000

Individuals and families who registered with FEMA for federal assistance.
