Lawyer: plot to kill DA ’jailhouse bragging’

Associated Press

_ — DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — A lawyer for a man being held at the Houston County jail says any discussion involving his client of plans to kill District Attorney Doug Valeska merely represents jailhouse bragging.

Attorney Bill Kominos represents 62-year-old Jimmy Earl Hall, who faces two felony solicitation charges to commit murder charges, involving Valeska and Hall’s stepmother.

Valeska has attempted to have Hall’s probation revoked on a prior felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge based on the murder solicitation charges.

The Dothan Eagle says Houston County sheriff’s deputies say they have a tape recording of Hall attempting to hire another inmate to help kill Valeska and the woman.

Kominos asked the court to delay ruling on the probation revocation to give him an opportunity to listen to the tape.
