BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Temperatures across Alabama are expected to rise to near 100 degrees and stay in the mid to upper 90s for awhile.
National Weather Service reports show temperatures mostly in the mid-90s on Thursday. It’s supposed to be a few degrees warmer on Friday.
Scott Unger, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Birmingham, says the weather service has already issued more heat advisories this summer than it did last year.
The weather service says the heat index might soar to 110 through Wednesday, and actual highs will hover just below 100 degrees and lows won’t drop below the mid-70s.
