Large fire engulfs high school in western Alabama

BUTLER, Ala. (AP) — Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a large blaze that swept through Choctaw County High School in the western Alabama town of Butler.

Authorities say the fire happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from at least a half-dozen area departments were battling the blaze late Tuesday.

Students and teachers at the school were told not to report to the building Wednesday.

Butler is about 100 miles north of Mobile, about 10 miles east of the Alabama-Mississippi line.
