— ASHVILLE, Ala. (AP) — A St. Clair County jury has convicted a man of capital murder in the killing of a 23-year-old woman in 2008 and recommended the death penalty by a 10-2 vote.

The jury found 29-year-old Michael Brandon Kelley of Moody, guilty of the Nov. 16, 2008 killing and sexual torture of Emily Milling of Leeds.

The Talladega Home reports Kelley testified that he left a club with Milling the night she was killed and had gone to his trailer to party with her and two men. He said he woke up in the trailer and found her body on the floor.

The jury deliberated for about 45 minutes before returning a unanimous verdict of guilty on all three charges and for another 45 minutes before making the reath penalty recommendation.
