DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Detectives with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a home invasion robbery that resulted in the homeowner’s death.
Level Plains Police Chief L.A. Bonds said officers responded to the residence around 8:15 p.m. Sunday to a report of two men with guns having entered the home.
The Dothan Eagle reports Monday that witnesses said the gunmen demanded the location of drugs and money in the home.
There were two women in the home, but they were not injured.
Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt pronounced 43-year-old Marcus Blackmon dead around 9:30 p.m.
