The Athens Square will close today ahead of the inaugural Athens Grease Festival, to be held Saturday in downtown Athens.
Vendors will start arriving tonight, and portions of Washington and Marion streets around the Square will close Friday night and remain closed until late Saturday night.
Parts of Market Street will close Saturday. Jefferson Street parking will be reserved for handicap parking only on Saturday.
