MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange says former Marshall County Commissioner Timothy Frank Bollinger has been convicted of a felony ethics crime.
Strange said in a statement that Bollinger pleaded guilty to converting a campaign contribution to his personal use.
He was sentenced Wednesday in Marshall County Circuit Court to a 60-month sentence, which was suspended. He was also ordered to serve 48 months of probation, and to perform 100 hours of community service.
Strange said Bollinger admitted that he intentionally converted to his personal use a check for $500 contributed to his campaign on about April 23, 2010. The charge was made in an indictment returned by a Marshall County grand jury on Aug. 18, 2011.
