FBI joins hunt for missing Alabama teen

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Federal agents are joining in the search for a teenage girl who was reportedly abducted in Dothan.

Dothan police Sgt. Rachel David says FBI agents were now working on the reported kidnapping of 15-year-old Ailene Lander.

Authorities are looking for her and her stepfather, 36-year-old Charles Dean Partin.

David says the girl was reportedly abducted by the man on Monday after she was taken to a doctor's appointment at Southeast Alabama Medical Center by an employee with the Alabama Department of Human Resources.

David says authorities believe the teenage girl and her stepfather may also be accompanied by her mother, Julie Bethke, and five siblings.
