East Limestone lost its region opener Friday night at home against the Muscle Shoals Trojans, with a final score of 15-6.
The game remained evenly matched and scoreless at the half.
Devin Robinson led the Indians’ offense with 108 yards rushing on 19 attempts.
Robinson put the first score on the board with a one-yard run with 3:10 to go in the third quarter. A bad snap led to a missed extra point.
Tyler Jackson put the Trojans back into contention with a 74-yard run for a touchdown with 2:50 remaining in the third quarter. Charles Gist was successful with a two-point conversion attempt, putting Muscle Shaols up by a score of 8-6.
Gist then capped the scoring with a 32-yard touchdown run with 6:19 remaining in the fourth. Stephen Logan added the extra point.
East Limestone next travels to Huntsville Thurday night to face J.O. Johnson.

Elkmont 13, West Morgan 6
The Red Devils opened Class 3A, Region 8 with a victory over the Rebels Friday night.
West Morgan opened scoring with 3:51 remaining in the first quarter after Zachary Hulbert intercepted an Elkmont pass and returned it to the seven-yard line, setting up the Rebels only touchdown of the night, as Demetrious Warren connected with Clayton Terry for the score and a 6-0 lead. Elkmont blocked the extra point kick and from there, it was all Red Devils.
Hunter Day put Elkmont on the board with a 42-yard run with 2:04 left in the first quarter. The Red Devils last score of the game was set up by Cole Glass who blocked a Rebels punt and was picked up by teammate Sloan Hawkins who ran it in for a touchdown. Jose Hernandez’s extra point was good.
Elkmont travels to Rogers Friday.

Clements 18, Colbert County 6
In other games, Clements defeated Colbert County 18-6.
