Smith, Malone part of Alabama All-Stars win

— A pair of local player stood tall Friday to help Alabama break a three-game losing streak and defeat Mississippi at the 23rd annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Basketball Game. Athens’ Alliyah Smith and Clements’ Daneshia “Lou Lou” Malone, both standing over six feet tall, helped Alabama win 64-54 in the first game of a doubleheader with a boys all-star game.
