Tanner High School pulled out an 85-77 win over county foe West Limestone Monday night despite 40 points put up by the Wildcats’ Preston Herring.
The Rattlers trailed by one at the half but put up a combined 55 points in the second half for the win.
Marquis McDonald led Tanner with 24 points. Tray Cosby tossed in 17 and recorded 13 rebounds while Greg Maclin contributed 16 points.
Kyle Casteel added 12 points for West Limestone.
ABS 37, Falkville 36
A.J. Price scored 14 points for the Trojans as they held on for the win. Hunter Cox contributed six.
Girls
Tanner 43, West 40
Shaquinta Sales recorded a double-double in the Lady Rattlers’ victory. Sales scored 22 points and pulled down 18 rebounds. Lauren Harris added 10 points and nine rebounds.
For West Limestone, “Bugg” Grizzard had nine.
Athens 52, Lee 38
Lecresha Horton paced the Lady Golden Eagles with 14 points. Destiny Bailey had 10. Ciera Jones pulled down eight rebounds.
ABS 56, Falkville 36
The Lady Trojans got 27 points and 10 rebounds from Athena Hinkle in their win over Falkville. Cynthia Steelman tossed in seven.
