Ardmore High's girls' basketball team continued its winning ways Friday night with a 63-41 victory over Elkmont.
The win improves the Lady Tigers record to 3-0 on the season.
Brittany Brown and Callie Steadman paced the Lady Tigers with 11 points each. Haley Lewter chipped in with eight points.
For Elkmont, Courtney Phillips and Krysten McNatt had 11 points a piece. Layne Smith added nine points.
Ardmore travels to East Lawrence to open area play Tuesday night while Elkmont hosts Randolph Monday.
Athens 54, Huntsville 41
Destany McLin led all scorers for the Lady Golden Eagles in their win Friday night with 13 points. Lecresha Horton tossed in 11 while Kajonica Hankins added 10 points. Ciera Jones contributed with six.
Athens (4-1) hosts Brewer, the Class 5A girls' state runner up a year ago, Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Boys
Ardmore 63, Elkmont 46
The Tigers never trailed at home Friday night,leading 36-21 at halftime and 53-27 at the end of three to notch their first win of the season.
Kevin Shelton scored 18 points to lead Ardmore. Matt Teeples added 15 points while Kyle Jordan netted 12 points.
Skylar Gant had 12 points for the Red Devils and Dylan Brazel had 10.
West Limestone 64, Tanner 61
The host Wildcats got 26 points from Preston Herring while beating county rival Tanner. Austin Adams and Justin White had 11 points a piece. Alex Taylor scored seven points while pulling down 11 rebounds.
Marquise McDonald led the Rattlers with 21 points. Tray Cosby had 12.
Hazel Green 75, East Limestone 61
The visiting Trojans took control early in the first quarter on their way to a win over the Indians.
London Brandon netted 23 points for East Limestone. Mario Matthews chipped in with 19.
Huntsville 46, Athens 39
The Golden Eagles dropped their second game of the season with a loss to Huntsville. Chandler Brock recorded nine points. Neil Malone had eight points and five rebounds while Julius Jones pulled down six rebounds.
